About Bar Horowitz

Bar Horowitz is an Industrial Designer. She graduated in 2017 from the Industrial Design department at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, with Excellence Award in the Department of History and Theory.

She was born and raised in Kibbutz Merhavia. Graduated from high school in Kibbutz Ein Harod majored in Product Design.
After graduating high school, she volunteered for a service-year in Nitzana educational community, where she was certified as a Tour instructor by the Ministry of Education. She volunteered for military service as a combat supporter in the field of product development for combat operations in a special combat unit.

In 2013 she continued her route, enrolling in the Industrial Design department in Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. In 2016 she participated in the design & curation team for the Industrial Design Graduates Exhibition in Bezalel, mainly in charge of the communication design work (made in collaboration with curators Prof. Ido Bruno and Liora Rozin). During her studies, she worked as an Industrial designer at Magenta Workshop design studio.

Bar was elected to exhibit her works at “App” exhibition at Jerusalem Science Museum in 2014, and at the Graduate exhibitions of Industrial Design department, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design between the years 2013 – 2017. Has received the Green Standard Mark for Sustainable environmental and social design: first, in 2016, her Hammock textile design implemented sustainable design approaches as Upcycle and Design for disassembly. Second time, in 2017, for her Final Project, which deals with social and environmental design for urban Community Gardens.

Recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Award for 2017-2018 in the field of Industrial Design.
