Eytan Fox, film director, was born in New York in 1964 and in 1966 immigrated to Israel with his family. Eytan studied at Tel Aviv University’s School of Film and Television. In 1990 his first film, “Time Off” won the Movie of the Year Award. Eytan's first feature-length film, the romantic comedy “Song of the Siren”, was the most successful film in Israel that year. He has created and directed the TV series “Florentine”, which won the television category’s First Prize at the Jerusalem International Film Festival in 1997. In 1999, Eytan's musical drama “Gotta Have Heart” won Best Short Prize at the 1999 New York New Fest Film Festival. His film “Yossi & Jagger” (2002), a powerful drama about the homophobic atmosphere in the army became critically acclaimed, and placed Fox as a world wide known Israeli filmmaker. “Walking on Water” (2004) about the relationships between an Israeli and a German who's grandfather is a Nazi, was chosen to open the Berlin Film Festival in 2005 and gained success both in Israel and in many countries abroad. His Latest film “The Bubble” has been shown in Israel with great success and has recently won an audience prize at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival. Eytan won AICF scholarships in 1990-1991.
