Ilan graduated from The Jerusalem Academy High School of Music and Dance. Throughout his years at the Academy, Ilan was an AICF scholarship receiver. Ilan won the third place in the 2002 Maya Arbatova ballet competition in Israel. After attending summer programs abroad, Ilan decided to continue his ballet training in the top level of The School of American Ballet in New York City. After a year at SAB he moved to San Francisco Ballet School where he was one of four boys chosen to be Part of the San Francisco Ballet School Trainee Program. As a trainee, Ilan had the opportunity to learn different choreographies and perform in many outreaches as well as performing with San Francisco Ballet. While rehearsing with the company he got to work with well-known choreographers such as William Forsythe, Mark Moris and Helgi Tomasson. In performances with San Francisco Ballet School and the Trainee program Ilan got to dance many lead roles including Flower Festival pas de deux Choreographed by August Bournonville and Swan Lake pas de trois choreographed by Helgi Tomasson.
Ilan sees his future as a professional dancer and is aspiring to dance modern and contemporary choreographies as well as ballet.
"The America-Israel Cultural Foundation has been supporting me generously from a young age, and it was such a great honor to be invited into its big family. The foundation's level of care is wonderful, and the financial support has always been just part of their expression of interest in my progress. I am so thankful that the foundation believed in my ability and, in a lot of ways, made the road I took much easier."
